Query to Ayanna Behin Literary
Today I sent a query letter to Ms. Ayanna Behin. I did a bit of research and found out that Ms. Behin went to the University of Michigan, so I added the fact that my master's in library and information services is from Michigan in hopes I might get some fellow alumni points. Unlikely, but worth a shot.

Sometimes I think most of the goal is just getting the agent to SLOW DOWN FOR THREE SECONDS to actually think about your novel. So maybe the University of Michigan alumni status will do it for you!

I agree. Sometimes it's weird little things that they notice. I'm still expecting a rejection, but it's nice to have some kind of strategy every now and then. I'm not good at agent-flattering query letters so I tend to keep it short and sweet.
